Four
games into the 1978 football season, the San Diego Chargers hired
Don Coryell as their head coach. This began a period of high scoring,
exciting games, the likes of which had never been seen before. “Air
Coryell” took the city by storm, and for the next several years
San Diego lived, slept and breathed Chargers’ football.
